Adoption

“I alone cannot change the world, but I can cast a stone across the waters to create many ripples”
– Mother Teresa

Because adoption stories are powerful, our grants focus on those who are willing and able to share their story openly and broadly in order to influence others to act on behalf of the orphan.

There are 163,000,000 orphans in the world. Many of them cannot or will not be adopted. But we believe our work can create a ripple effect of care.  Your contribution helps us cast a stone by funding an adoption story.

"We worked diligently for over a year while we were pursuing our first adoption, educating ourselves as much as we could about all the different perspectives in the adoption triad and acknowledging all adoptions start with a loss. But God makes all things new, and through honoring their story, we knew that we could love these babies while also loving their biological families and inviting them into ours. They are valuable because they are worthy. No matter the circumstance, no matter the situation. Both the biological mother and the child she carried for 9 months make the world a better place and we are committed to loving them without judgement.”

"In 2019, our hearts were opened to domestic adoption while still continuing our wait for international adoption. We were matched with our sweet Adi girl on July 1st and found out we were pregnant with our Mia on July 7th. Wow! It still shocks us when we tell people. Life has been so busy, but so fun.

We said all along we ideally wanted both babies to be 1 year old before traveling to get our child from Madagascar. Y’all! On Mia’s 1st birthday our agency emailed us that Madagascar was moving again and we started updating our dossier. Here we are, waiting for our call anyway…" - The Jenkins Family

"Several months ago, in spring of 2019, we saw the face of our daughter on an advocacy website. Again, at this time, we weren’t planning another adoption! We almost chuckled at what the two of us were considering. But, adoption is in our hearts and this precious girl needed a home. And, we have love to give! So we said YES and now we are just DAYS away from meeting our daughter.

Our four children are so very excited to meet their new sister. Her name is..." -The Fitzgerald Family

“I did a quick search that night for “international adoption.” I wandered through the sites to a post on Ukrainian hosting, wondered what that was, clicked on it, and changed our world. The girl we came to know as our future daughter was smiling back at me in a picture.

Long story short, we brought her into our home that summer and knew we’d been right, that we wanted to pursue adoption. We started to fly through paperwork, only to find out a few months later that she wasn’t eligible for adoption yet, but she would be “soon.” Okay, we can deal with this. What we really didn’t expect on the day of the second hosting trip was to find out that she had an older brother…” - The Corbin Family

“If you ask us how we got from that tug on our hearts to our journey to Colombia, I’m not sure we even know the answer. God worked out the details and we quickly fell in love with three biological siblings who were waiting for a family in Colombia. In July of 2017, we brought home Camila (11), Cate (9), and Cason (5). These kiddos are absolutely incredible and have bonded so quickly with our family. My heart is blessed by them every single day.

Here’s where the story gets crazy…" - The Davis Family

"We knew we wanted to adopt someday, but we told ourselves that we were too young, too inexperienced, and well, we didn’t have $30,000 waiting to be spent. However, adoption began weighing so heavily on our hearts, it was all we could think about. God was opening doors and making the way, so we took the first step and never looked back.

We went on a wait list for an Ethiopian adoption in late 2012, but it became evident we’d be waiting a while. In July of 2014 we saw a little boy on a waiting children’s list. I had looked at a lot of list and saw a lot of faces, and while my heart broke for all of those children, it had not felt what I felt for this little boy. He was somewhere between 3-5 years old. We knew this was our son. We went on hold with our first agency and started from scratch financially to bring him home." - The Ray Family
